Over 45 years ago two young entrepreneurs Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel, started a company with big ideas of producing high quality products which everyone needed, so good that they could sell themselves.
So came the Amway Home Care line of products. The earliest Amway logo included the tagline, ‘Home Care Know How. .at your doorstep’. Home care products represented the very core of our business.
In 1959 the first multi purpose, ‘biodegradable’, innovative cleaner, L.O.C.™ was launched and even now remains a top selling product in over 80 countries & territories world wide.
Two years later SA8™ Laundry detergent was also launched with a ‘biodegradable’ formulation carrying on the tradition of being more environmentally conscious than the most commonly sold laundry detergents by competitors at that time.
In 1963 DISH DROPS™ Dishwashing Liquid was launched and completed the trio which became the foundation of the multi-billion dollar global business opportunity we know today as Amway.
These three products have continued to be popular with millions of business owners over 40 years. These three products continue to offer solutions for laundry and cleaning through the same product names their original products carried - SA8, L.O.C. and DISH DROPS.
The superior qualities of Home Care products including SA8 Detergent and DISH DROPS Dishwashing Liquid largely contributed to the Amway brand value enhancement. While improvements were made to enhance the quality, the basic characteristics of being superb in cleaning and sensitive to the environment remain unchanged.
